Happy 4th Birthday TSF!

Chief Executive Officer at The Selling Factory, he has a wealth of experience in sales development. Following his 8 years as VP of Sales and Marketing and part of the executive team of a $500m company, he launched The Selling Factory as a selling-focused destination in the heart of Gainesville’s thriving business and university district.

Yesterday, October 1st was The Selling Factory’s birthday. We are 4 years old! It seems like only yesterday when we had the idea for The Selling Factory, and what our concept could do to support the career growth of the University of Florida students by helping companies meet and exceed their sales and growth goals.
Over the past 4 years, we’ve had nearly 200 college students come through our doors and learn real-life sales skills, giving them unmatched experience as they enter the career world upon graduation. Our students have joined companies such as Oracle, CDW, VMware, Cintas, Ernst & Young, Chewy, PWC, Accenture, and Proctor & Gamble. Many of our students have ventured into the world of entrepreneurship starting their own companies and many decided to join privately held companies nationwide, include amazing Gainesville-based companies.
The students that work, and have worked, at The Selling Factory are the heart and soul of our company. It is hard for me to articulate the pure joy we experience by surrounding ourselves with these incredible individuals. To see their drive, their intelligence, their empathy, and their eagerness to challenge themselves (like getting on the phone!) is nothing short of spectacular. As I write this, I am once again getting a little choked up. I can’t help it. I’m an emotional guy.
Since The Selling Factory is a For-Profit company, we have to earn every dollar we receive. We have received zero outside investment and have built the company month-by-month by earning a profit on the services we provide. Like so many small businesses that started with $0 in their bank account on Day One, we have learned to remain disciplined in operating a “lean” operation.
Over the past 4 years, we’ve had the pleasure of serving over 60 companies, locally, nationally, and internationally. Our client industries have ranged from consumer goods, SaaS, biotech, insurance, energy, financial services, to marketing/digital agencies. The faith and support of our clients have given us the horsepower needed to drive The Selling Factory. We are humbled, and so appreciative, of every client, we have worked with the past 4 years.
The Selling Factory’s leadership team cares deeply for our students and our clients. We are coaches at heart and are focused sharply on the development of our students and the success of our clients. What is our WHY? “We prepare college students today to be professionals tomorrow”.
To Adam Grossman, Ian Massenburg, Jared Glosser, Zack Kampf, and Brendan Veihman—this company exists and succeeds because of you. While our skillsets differ, our shared vision, ethics, trust, and excitement for the future will catapult us to unimaginable heights.
In a year like no other, The Selling Factory has been a place of community, and a destination of positivity and transparency, whether in-person or virtually. When adversity struck, our students and leadership team stepped up in ways I did not think were possible.
As we make our way into the last lap of 2020, we are positioned for what could be a giant leap forward in the growth of The Selling Factory. Hopefully, our 5th birthday will be in-person so we can reflect, celebrate, and support each other on a monumental achievement!
