Isabella Leon is a third year Interior Design student, with a minor in Mass Communications. Isabella was born in Quito, Ecuador and moved to Miami, Florida in 2011. She now lives in Gainesville and attends the University of Florida, her dream school. “I couldn’t be more grateful for the people and opportunities that have crossed my path in this city, including my TSF family. Being a design major, the communication skills that I have learned in this company along with patience and empathy has made me grow tremendously.
My most enjoyable pass times include taking time for self care such as exercising and having alone time with myself. I also enjoy reading country house novels and finding new music to obsess over. An honorable mention goes out to baking and shopping.
I love being involved in Strike Magazine, a student run publication that has brought me friendships and creative growth.
I started my own College Prep Club in High School. After going through the very confusing and stressful process that college applications were, I created a guide for underclassmen to support them through the difficult period that we all went through. It was a problem how many students were in the dark about what the steps were, and I wanted to change that. I’m ecstatic to see how much the club has helped students after I graduated, and that to this day it remains active.
If I could have any job, I would be an Interior Designer. Funny enough, my major is Interior Design. I was confused about my path for many years. When people would ask me this question I often laughed to myself and said I didn’t want to work at all. I couldn’t image work being enticing. Until I realized, work is supposed to give you energy, and make you ambitious for more. It’s very fulfilling to be proud of your work, and that’s how I feel when I’m developing a design. It fell into my lap unexpectedly when I got a random internship during my freshman year of college. It was at an Interior Design Studio and I fell in-love with everything about it.
The best piece of advice I ever received was to be present, kind, and grateful. I learned this from my dad, who is my greatest inspiration. He has taught me that everything I could want in life, is at my disposal to take if only I believe that it’s possible.ecstatic
