My name is Temwa Tshibangu, and I am an Entertainment and Media Studies Major at the University of Georgia, with a Minor in American Sign Language. I’m from Forsyth County in Georgia, and I love traveling,
The Selling Factory has been an invaluable job opportunity for me! Even though I love theatre, I’m not the most outgoing or sociable person. But the Selling Factory has forced me to come out of my shell and interact with a wide variety of strangers. Slowly, my social anxiety is going down and my confidence is going up. I’m sure this skill will be priceless in the future, as any good leader needs communication skills and confidence. I am still learning of course, but I’m excited to see where this job takes me! And of course, I couldn’t have gotten this far without the support of my peers as well as my campaign managers (Mia Semel specifically).
A big thing school has taught me is how to gracefully accept rejection without attributing it to worth. I’ve found that I’ve gotten a lot of no’s, whether it be for classes, roles, job opportunities, etc. But that is no reason to give up, or think I am lesser. If anything, that just means I am closer to a yes!
I would be a popular youtube content creator and an actor.
Getting over my insecurity of performing and doing it anyway. Also putting myself out there and making friends.
My mother told me that you can’t please everyone, but as long as you’re proud of yourself, that’s all that matters.
